Asia is a region of high growth and great significance for the global economy. The fund invests in the equity markets in Asia, excluding Japan, and provides access to companies that are based in the region, have significant operations there, or are primarily traded on Asian exchanges. It offers broad geographical diversification and exposure to markets such as China, India, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
Mid cap companies are central to the fund's strategy. They often combine higher growth potential than large companies with greater stability than small ones. The fund typically invests in 40 to 80 companies and may supplement with larger, liquid companies as needed.
The actively managed fund aims at generating excess returns over time. It is compared to a benchmark index of around 500 companies, but the portfolio is more concentrated and based on the managers' own analyses. Investments are made in stocks listed on regulated markets, and currency exposure is not hedged to Norwegian kroner.
The stock selection is based on four pillars: identification of trends, value creation focusing on capital allocation, the company's earnings momentum, and medium to long-term valuation.
Main investment areas:
Information Technology, Cyclical Consumer, Financials, Industrials, Real Estate, Health, Communication Services, Energy, and Defensive Consumer Goods.
The fund provides access to companies operating in some of the world's most dynamic economies, such as China, India, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. These regions are characterized by high economic growth, increasing purchasing power, and rapid technological development.
Mid cap companies often have an attractive combination of innovation and stability. They are large enough to be robust, but small enough to grow quickly and adapt to changes in the market.
